The Royal Life Saving Virtual First Aid Course (in an Education & Care Setting) provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations‚ including community and workplace settings.
This course applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergencies. This includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs.
The course aims to establish competence in the required skills and knowledge‚ judgement and physical abilities required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.
Pre-requisite: There are no pre-requisites for this course
Minimum age: 14 years
Course Length: 8 hours
Units of Competency:
Upon successful course completion‚ participants will be issued a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment with the following units of competency:
• HLTAID009 Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
• HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
Re-Accreditation: 3 years (CPR 12 months)
Level of English: A reasonable level of English is required to be able to complete this course successfully

We'll send you a resource pack with all the items you'll need to complete the first aid course‚ which includes:
To complete the course, a qualified Royal Life Saving trainer will take you through a live virtual training and assessment session at a pre-booked time. Once you've successfully completed your assessment we'll email your statement of attainment to you.

- a manikin to practice CPR on,
- a trainer defibrillator,
- training asthma inhaler and epi-pen, and
- A range of bandages and pads.
To complete the course, a qualified Royal Life Saving trainer will take you through a live virtual training and assessment session at a pre-booked time. Once you've successfully completed your assessment we'll email your statement of attainment to you.
