Becoming a licensed swim teacher is an exciting opportunity to inspire confidence, promote water safety, and teach essential swimming skills to individuals of all ages.
This Swim Teacher License application is designed to assess your qualifications, experience, and commitment to delivering high-quality swim instruction. A swim teacher license ensures that you meet the necessary minimum standards in safety, technique, and effective teaching methods, allowing you to create a positive and educational experience for your students.

Note: The Royal Life Saving Swim Teacher License meets the requirements of AV2.2 of the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO) (reference, requires GSPO access)
Introduction:
When you become a licensed swim teacher, you agree to the following standards:
- Industry Standards (the GSPO)
- A Code of Conduct
- Safeguarding children policy
- Health and fitness
- Maintaining ongoing CPR skills
- Ongoing professional development
- A complaints handling process
- A Swim Teacher License Declaration and Agreement

Learning Outcomes:
Learning Methods:
- Agree to the eight (8) Swim Teacher License Standards
- Provide evidence of current valid CPR certificate (HLTAID009)
- Provide evidence of SISSS00112 - Swimming and Water Safety Teacher skill set (or statement of attainment)
- Provide evidence of current valid Blue/ Exemption card
- Provide evidence of Industry Onboarding / Experience / Professional Development
Royal Life saving reserves its right to refuse to issue a license for any reasons it considers reasonable.
Minimum Age: 16 years at time of application
