These units are part of the skillset SISSS00135 Aqua Exercise Instruction and achievement of these units provides credit towards SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness.

Aqua exercise instructors are tasked with leading aquatic fitness classes at aquatic facilities. They design and deliver engaging workouts tailored to participants’ fitness levels and goals, emphasising water-based exercises for strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.
Key Information
- The course includes three (3) days of face-to-face training, along with online pre-course and workplace based post-course activities / assessments to reinforce knowledge and demonstrate competency.
- Sufficient fitness is needed to deliver aqua exercise sessions and perform water rescues
- Couse price includes lessons and assessment activities.
- Course closes five (5) days prior to the course date, to allow students to complete pre-course.
- Courses require minimum number of four (4) participants to proceed, we will confirm this one (1) week prior to each course.

⇣ Who is this course for ? ⇣
Who is this course for: People who wish to be an Aqua exercise instructors who lead group water-based exercise sessions in settings with pools, such as fitness facilities, gyms, and leisure and community centres. View the workforce framework here.
⇣ What are the pre-requisites to do this course ? ⇣
To ensure a successful and effective learning experience, please review the following pre-requisites:
- Hold a current and valid HLTAID011 Provide First Aid statement of attainment
- Minimum Age: 16 years
- Eligibility: Candidates must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or hold an appropriate visa allowing them to undertake education.
- Please note: We are not a CRICOS provider and cannot enrol students on an international student visa.
- Technology: Participants need to be able to complete
- Physical Fitness: Participants must have a sufficient level of physical fitness and swimming proficiency to be able to undertake aqua exercise activities and complete water rescues.
The course involves a range of physical activities, including but not limited to: kneeling, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods, lifting light equipment, swimming moderate to long distances, towing a person, and general poolside movement.

⇣ What if I do not have a workplace to complete the course ? ⇣
Pleas contact us, we can arrange for you to come into our workplace at Gumdale and complete the activities in our workplace.
⇣ How do I get an invoice ? ⇣
Easy:
- Register for the course as normal, but do not pay by credit card (just close the page) – this registers you in the course (but you have not paid)
- Then email us as courses@rlssq.com.au and let us know who you would like the invoice sent to.
⇣ What physical activities are involved ? ⇣
All students will be required to:
- Participate in a number of aqua fitness sessions
- Have swimming skills which enable you to complete a rescue of a person and dive to the bottom of the pool
- Demonstrate exercises on pool deck for at least four repetitions
- Satisfactorily complete aquatic exercise sessions
⇣ How long does the course take ? ⇣
The course includes some activities to do before the online course (pre-course), three (3) days of face-to-face training, and post course workplace activities to do after the course in a workplace (post course activities).
We normally expect people to take a month to complete the post course activities, but are allowed up to one year (12 months) to complete the post course activities.
⇣ How is the course delivered ? ⇣
This course is delivered in the following format:

The COURSE COTS IS $650.00 (not subject to GST)
This price includes :
- The Online Learning modules
- The face-to-face days
The price does not include a computer, web camera or internet access for you.
⇣ Is the online learning compulsory? ⇣
Some task are completed online, however if you have difficulties with working online, please contact us and we can arrange these be completed in another format.
