    As you have done a course with us, we should have your USI on file. However we will contact you if we need to know your USI as we may not be able to issue your certificates until we can verify your USI.

    Do you know your USI?

    You will need to find your USI before you commence the course and let us know what it is (you can email it to us). We may not be able to issue your certificates until we can verify your USI. If you have done a course with us before, we may already have your USI on file.

    You will need to apply for a USI, this link (to the Australian Government website) may assist you. You can do this after you register for the course, however we may not be able to issue your certificates until we can verify your USI.

    Bronze Medallion

    The Royal Life Saving Bronze Medallion is recognised as the minimum standard for a qualified lifesaver. The course aims to develop the level of judgement, technique and physical ability required to safely carry out water rescues and involves practical applications, assessments of CPR on manikins, as well as a theory exam.

    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    • SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescues

    Bronze Medallion Re-accreditation (includes CPR)

    The Bronze Medallion Re-accreditation course is for those that need to re-accredit an existing Bronze Medallion qualification.
    You need to have an existing RLSS Pool Lifeguard Award (dated less than 12 months) to complete an Update. Please contact us if you would like to confirm the date of your current certificate.

    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    And you will be re-accredited upon successful completion in the following units:

    • SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescues

    Pool Lifeguard Award

    The current minimum industry requirement for employment as a Pool Lifeguard at a Swimming Pool or Aquatic Facility is the Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard qualification. The Pool Lifeguard course is conducted over three days (two days for those who hold a RLSS Bronze Medallion). Participants must have current HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Statement of Attainment to enrol into this course. This course aims to develop acceptable standards of knowledge, judgement and physical abilities for the supervision of people in swimming pools and involves practical applications as well as a theory exam.

    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    • SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescues

    • SISCAQU006 Supervise Clients at an Aquatic Facility or Environment

    • SISCAQU007 Perform Advanced Water Rescues

    • PUAEME001 Provide Emergency Care

    • PUAEME003 Administer Oxygen in an Emergency

    Pool Lifeguard (UPDATE)

    The Pool Lifeguard Update course is for those that need to re-accredit an existing Pool Lifeguard qualification. You need to have an existing RLSS Pool Lifeguard Award (dated less than 12 months) to complete an Update. Please contact us if you would like to confirm the date of your current certificate.

    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    • PUAEME001 Provide Emergency Care

    • PUAEME003 Administer Oxygen in an Emergency

    And you will be re-accredited upon successful completion in the following units:

    • SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescues

    • SISCAQU006 Supervise Clients at an Aquatic Facility or Environment

    • SISCAQU007 Perform Advanced Water Rescues

    Pool Lifeguard Package (includes First Aid)

    This course is the same as the Pool Lifeguard, but includes a First Aid course. Completing the course in a package is cheaper than doing the courses separately.

    A Statement of Attainment from Royal Life Saving will be issued upon successful completion in the following units:

    • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

    • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support

    • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

    • PUAEME001 Provide Emergency Care

    • PUAEME003 Administer Oxygen in an Emergency

    • SISCAQU002 Perform Basic Water Rescues

    • SISCAQU006 Supervise Clients at an Aquatic Facility or Environment

    • SISCAQU007 Perform Advanced Water Rescues
