Pool Plant Operations

The Royal Life Saving Pool Plant Operations Award provides the minimum qualification for persons operating public pool plants. The course aims to establish competence in the provision of water quality at public pools.
Pre-requisite: There are no pre-requisites for this course
Minimum age: 16 years
Course Length: 16 hours
Units of Competency: SISCAQU001 Test Pool Water Quality‚ SISCAQU003 Maintain Aquatic Facility Plant and Equipment, SISCAQU004 Develop and Implement Pool Water Maintenance Procedures, SISCAQU005 Develop and Implement Aquatic Facility Maintenance Procedures, BSBRSK401 Identify risk and apply risk management processes
Re-Accreditation: Royal Life Saving QLD recommends every four (4) years
Level of English: A reasonable level of English is required to be able to complete this course successfully

It is assumed that participants are sufficiently physically fit and healthy to undertake this course. The following physical activities will occur during the course unless you advise of any physical difficulties or limitations: kneeling, bending over, crouching, standing, leaning, sitting, pushing, lifting weights, carrying and other physical activity.

Learning Methods:

Course dates close one week before the commencement of the course so that participants have sufficient time to complete all pre-course learning activities. Pre-course learning activities need to be completed before the start of the face-to-face component. The pre-course work will develop your underpinning knowledge for the course to be undertaken.

Participants will require the following for the face-to-face component:
- Photo Identification (i.e. Drivers Licence)
- Your Unique Student Identifier (www.usi.gov.au)
- Your manuals (if applicable)
- Appropriate clothing
- Any drinks‚ meals and/or snacks 

No Pre-Course work is required.
Participants are then required to attend the face-to-face component to complete the practical assessment.
